Government Partnership in Evidence-Informed Competency Based Teacher Training through CPTCs

The purpose of this workshop is to explore a proposal for government partnership with an evidence-based teacher-training approach run by a local Ugandan NGO, Kimanya-Ngeyo Foundation, wherein teachers learn to promote competency-based learning among students by first experiencing it as learners.

This approach has been highly impactful and is among the most cost-effective teacher-trainings to date. Utilizing the structure of Core Primary Teachers Colleges (CPTCs), we envision a multi-stage model for country-wide scaling to improve the quality of teaching and learning at the primary school level.
