We live in a society where we face numerous challenges. Every institution is susceptible to disintegration which is evident right from the smallest unit of society, the family. Family values are forgotten, theory is separated from practice in the learning process, knowledge is given by some and received by others instead of being generated by all, these are a few challenges we face today. The Kimanya-Ng'eyo Foundation for science and education contributes to the empowerment of youth through a process of education for development through the Preparation for Social Action(PSA) program. The PSA program enables the youth to understand the need to transform themselves through the transformation of their communities. Kimanya-Ng'eyo places the generation and application of knowledge in the center of the development process rather than material gain.This process which aims to develop scientific, mathematical, language, technological and community development capabilities is embedded with both theory and practice..
