Kimanya-Ngeyo is a registered local nonprofit, nongovernmental organization founded in Jinja, Uganda, in 2007. Our aim is to strengthen the capacity of communities to act as protagonists in improving their own material and social conditions.

Preparation for Social Action Program


Preparation for Social Action (PSA) is a nonformal, education for development program that was developed by the Foundation for the Application and Teaching of Science (FUNDAEC) following four decades of experience working with rural populations in Colombia.

PSA is currently offered in different parts of the world including several countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Kimanya-Ngeyo Foundation has been implementing the program, with advisory support from FUNDAEC, since 2007. Read More>>

Teacher Professional Development


More than 2,000 public and private school teachers have participated in the organization’s professional development program since 2015.

In addition to helping teachers advance in their capabilities connected to effective planning and delivery of Uganda’s curriculum, participation in the program has also assisted them to assume a greater role in the overall well-being of their students in and out of the classroom by strengthening teachers’ relationship with parents and the community. In a country where agriculture forms the basis of the local economy, the Foundation views as essential the strengthening of the technological and scientific capacities of farmers, as well as their meaningful engagement in the search for sustainable systems of production that marry latest advances in agricultural science with farmers’ own experience accumulated over generations.  Read more>>
