Tutor Selection and Training
The Kimanya-Ngeyo Foundation offers a tutor program for individuals interested in contributing meaningfully to their community. The tutors must be resident in the community where the PSA group will be held. In addition to the study and tutoring they will have the opportunity to be trained intensively in the PSA materials 8 weeks per year. They will also have the opportunity to study upcoming books and to prepare for the current lessons that they are facilitating each week.The most successful tutors are those that have a serious commitment to their students and to the transformation of themselves and to their communities.They should believe in the capacity of their students to advance and be willing to accompany them during their study and their community action. They do not see their students as empty vessels that need to be filled up with knowledge but rather Mines rich in gems of inestimable value. They understand that they are walking a path of service with their students and that the student is responsible for their own learning.
