The PSA textbooks are not concerned with traditional subject matters. Their main goal is to help students develop understanding. Understanding, however, is not the same as information processing and cannot be limited to mechanistic functions of the brain. The human soul has unimaginable powers. These manifest themselves in spiritual attributes that determine the nature and quality of every thought and of every action an individual undertakes. In addition to understanding, the PSA textbooks concern themselves with skills and abilities, attitudes, habits, as well as concise bits of information. These are organized according to the contribution they make to specific “capabilities” in the student. The term “capability” is employed in a very specific way here, that is, as an instrument for the integration of knowledge in the development of curricula.
